The Power PA Jobs Alliance is a pro-polluter front group coordinated by a DC-based political action committee posing as a coalition of industry, labor, and consumer stakeholders.

Pennsylvania has the fifth most polluting electric power sector in the nation. As state leaders offer plans to reduce power plant emissions by joining the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), the fossil fuel industry is ramping up attacks and spreading lies. .

The Power PA Jobs Alliance is the public front of a coordinated campaign to undermine public and political support for RGGI in Pennsylvania. Launched in late 2019, the Alliance claims to be “a coalition of labor, industry, and consumer stakeholders,” yet is dominated by fossil fuel interests. The group doesn’t list a single consumer advocacy organization in its membership, and its website is run by a Washington DC-based political action committee with deep ties to the coal, oil, and gas industries who stand to gain the most if they retain the opportunity to continue to uninhibitedly pollute Pennsylvania’s communities.
